Hi, I’m Alice!
(And that’s Brian the Border Terrier).
I’m a Sussex-based careers adviser and life coach.
I want to help passionate creatives and freelancers quiet some of the noise, bin off the pressure and trust their gut. I help you design your purpose-led plan A and put the wheels in motion in the most achievable and joyful way possible. Using MDOTS and GROW models while keeping neuro-affirming practice at the heart of what I do, I love to help people take action without burning out or compromising.
My path
Each step of my squiggling career journey informs my current practice and contributes to my holistic life.
Performing Artist
I trained at University of Chichester Conservatoire, gaining a first in BA (Hons) Musical Theatre (Triple Threat). I’ve worked as a freelance dance teacher for over a decade and hold a Diploma in Dance Instruction (Tap) with the ISTD.
I currently teach contemporary at Grace Dance Worthing, but have previously taught ballet, modern, tap, musical theatre, choir, street, limbering, kicks leaps and turns, and burlesque! I am also regularly dancing lindy hop & swing at the fabulous Swing City Brighton.
My partner is also a performing artist, so I am found flyering every year at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. May and August are our favourite months of the year, and being surrounded by fellow creatives makes my heart very happy.
Teacher
I gained a PGCE (QTS) in English teaching from the University of Bristol in 2022: this is where I gained life-long friends, had the best summer of my life on the Harbourside, and found my voice as a social justice advocate.
Here, I was chairwoman of the Student Staff Liaison Committee, and used this position to ensure high-quality mentorship as a priority for teaching placements.
After working as a secondary school teacher for two years (and being diagnosed with ADHD) I found it impossible to strike an adequate work-life balance, and felt that this was not likely to change. I then moved on to part-time work within Further Education.
My first role in FE was as a tutor in a large technical college, supporting with work experience and fulfilling the PSHE requirement for carpentry and multiskills students. This helped me move on to become a Careers Adviser in a top Sixth Form College in Brighton & Hove, which I LOVE!
Career Management Coach
Now a member of the Association for Coaching, I achieved my Life and Personal Development Coaching Diploma in 2025 with The Coaching Academy, where I am still working as an active member of their neurodiversity working party.
I currently work as an associate for Abigail Jane Coaching delivering 1:1s specialising in ADHD burnout, and as a freelance Careers Adviser for Carl Jackson.
I regularly deliver ADHD burnout management workshops within schools, workplaces and co-working spaces, having been a part of the inaugural Brighton Wellness Festival and working with FOUNDRY Hove. I have also been an ADHD UK Ambassador, and contributed to an ADHD psychoeducation programme (which involved a very exciting filming day in London).
Now, I am a Sussex-based Level 6 Careers Adviser in both a part-time and freelance capacity, and an independent career management coach largely for creative freelancers.
This ‘patchwork’ portfolio career gives me scope for lots of interesting projects - of which I’m always on the lookout for! So please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
